Get Project Reclaimer
Free and non-commercial. The download contains only Project Reclaimer's own software; the game itself comes from your own Steam installation.
Still being built and tested. The download is always the newest release; earlier ones are on the releases page. The source code stays private for now, with the goal of eventually releasing it as open source.

Game client
Everything you need to play: menus, server browser, hosting from the client, map editing and settings. Includes the dedicated server.
Opens the newest release on GitHub: download the .exe under Assets.
Dedicated server
On Windows, the game client is the server too: project-reclaimer.exe dedicated runs every server in a folder. Each release also has a server-only build without the game, which servers with automatic updates install. On Linux, the Docker image needs only a compose.yaml and your own game files. Admins manage players from any Windows PC with the RCON desktop client, which needs no game.
Source code
Project Reclaimer is written in Rust. The code stays private while the project is in development; the goal is to eventually publish it as open source.
Before you download
- You need your own copy of the game. Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Steam, with Halo 3 installed, campaign included. Project Reclaimer contains no game files.
- Each release supports one game version. If a Steam update changes the game's engine file, the client tells you, and you'll need a Project Reclaimer release built for the new version.
- It updates itself. From version 0.8.7 on, the main menu tells you when a new release is out and installs it for you.
- This is an early development build. Expect bugs. Internet play between different networks has not been verified yet.

Check your download
Windows may warn about a new program from an unknown publisher. Before you run it, compare the file's SHA-256 checksum with the one in the SHA256SUMS.txt published beside it:
Get-FileHash .\project-reclaimer*.exe -Algorithm SHA256
If the checksum doesn't match, don't run the file. Only download Project Reclaimer from this site or its releases page on GitHub.
